Fitness on the Flint presented by Ambetter from Peach State Health Plan Saturday, September 26. 229 Funtional Fitness by Tony's Gym will host the workout, EMOM, and attendees will enjoy the choce of Kentucky Mule or a Beer after class concludes! Please bring your own mat and towel for class. Participants must be 16 or older to participate in the workout. Class will start at 10:30AM, check-in will start at 10:00AM Can we get an EMOM? EMOM is short for every minute on the minute. Each minute you will have a set amount of "work" to complete. Any remaining time will be rest. Emoms are a great way to train while achieving intensity with adequate recovery periods. This event will apply the fundamentals of CrossFit, defined as constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. Functional exercises are ones that mimic real-life movements, and usually require little to no equipment, like burpees, push-ups, and sit-ups, combined with running and other cardio activities. These classes will be scalable for everyone, from the advanced athlete to the beginner. Everyone will get a good sweat on. Flint River Entertainment Complex 5K Run Series

Flint River Entertainment Complex 5K Run Series

Ambetter by Peach Sate Health Plan and Michelob Ultra presents the very first Flint River Entertainment Complex 5K Race Series. The Race Series will have two registration options. Runners who only want to participate in a single 5K Event should choose their race of choice, and pay a $25 registration fee. Single race registration fees will include; two training sessions, entry to the race, and a t-shirt. Runners who would like to participate in the complete race series (all three races) should choose the FREC 5K Race Series – All 3 Races option, and pay a $65 registration fee. Series race registration fees will include; two training sessions per 5K event, entry to all three 5k race events, a t-shirt, and a 1 complementary drink option, to be offered at the end of each 5K race event. There will also be a 1-Mile Fun Run open to all ages, available for $10. *ALL Training sessions will take place on the two Friday’s prior to the actual 5K race day. Board and Brush Creative Studio Albany and the Flint River Entertainment Complex have partnered together to present Board & Brush on the Flint at the Veterans Park Amphitheatre on Friday, October 2! Tickets are $40 and $60, depending on board size chosen (small or medium) and include 1 complementary alcoholic beverage. Patrons must be 21+ to partake in the alcoholic beverage; however, non-alcoholic options will be made available for those who do not wish to consume alcohol or who are not 21 years of age. Homeschool Day is a 90-minute program designed for students in K-5th grade. It starts at 11 am and is conducted on the second Thursday of the month from September through May. Each month’s session incorporates a current AMA art exhibition and includes an art project that connects with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) education, gallery tours and more. The cost for Homeschool Day is $5 per student for AMA members and $10 per student for future members. Students who participate in Homeschool Day will be asked to comply with AMA visitation policies, including the wearing of masks for the protection of other students and AMA staff.
